Overview

BillPay is a payment platform designed, built and operated by TAK Technology. It gives businesses and institutions one place to collect payments, and connects them to the financial ecosystem around them.

The problem

Collecting payments usually means integrating with each bank, wallet and provider separately, and then reconciling each one separately. Every new channel adds cost, risk and manual work.

The platform

BillPay sits between the organisation collecting a payment and the financial institutions that process it. The organisation integrates once; BillPay handles the connections, the payment flow and the records that come back.

Product areas

Payment gateway
One API to accept payments from bank accounts, wallets and cards.
Merchant platform
A dashboard for payments, refunds, settlements and users.
Banking integration
Direct connections to partner banks’ core systems.
Wallet integration
Mobile-money payments confirmed in real time.
Settlement
Scheduled settlement to the merchant’s bank account.
Reconciliation
One file per day matching every payment across channels.
Government payments
Fee and service payments for public institutions.
Developer APIs
Documented REST APIs, a sandbox and webhooks.

How it works

  1. 1

    Integrate once

Connect your system to BillPay through the API, or use the merchant dashboard without writing code.

  2. 2

    Accept payments

Your customers pay through their bank, mobile wallet or card.

  3. 3

    Confirm in real time

BillPay confirms each payment to your system as it completes.

  4. 4

    Settle and reconcile

Funds are settled to your account on schedule, with one reconciliation file.

Merchant Experience

Merchants see every payment, refund and settlement in one dashboard, with roles for finance and support staff. Reports export to the formats accounting teams already use.

Payment Flow

A payment is created through the API, the customer pays through their chosen channel, and BillPay confirms the result to the merchant’s system by webhook. Failed and pending payments are retried and reported, never silently dropped.

Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit. API access uses signed requests and scoped keys. Sensitive data is encrypted at rest, access is logged, and the platform is penetration-tested before each major release.

Settlement

Collected funds are settled to the merchant’s bank account on an agreed schedule. Each settlement is accompanied by a statement that matches individual payments.

API / Developer Experience

Developers get documented REST APIs, a sandbox with test credentials, webhooks for payment events and sample code for common integrations.

Use cases

Bill collection
Utilities, schools and service providers collecting recurring bills.
Merchant payments
Businesses accepting payments online and at the counter.
Government service fees
Public institutions collecting fees with clear audit trails.
